Food buzz words – what do they mean?
Food waste – the food we buy but don’t eat, food we throw out that mostly ends up in landfill
Food loss – food lost during production, post-harvest, processing and/or distribution
Food insecurity – when people lack secure access to sufficient amounts of safe and nutritious food for normal growth and development.
Food rescue – edible food and groceries, which may otherwise be sent to landfill, are sourced through ‘food rescue’ programs and supplied to charities.
Food relief – distributing food and grocery items to front line charities around the country for people in need.
